Storm Drains Clogged

Storm Drains Clogged

Report a Clogged Storm Drain or by calling (714) 738-6897.

Storm drains are inspected and cleaned on a routine schedule to ensure they are in proper condition. Just before the rainy season, all the drains are checked for clearance. If you see a clogged drain or one that may be obstructed by trash or vegetation, you can report it online or call at (714) 738-6897.

Several drains and drainage channels in the City are part of Orange County's flood control system and are maintained by County crews. When you call Public Works, we should be able to tell you if the drain belongs to the City or the County. If the drain belongs to the County, we will notify the County of the problem.

Keep Our Streets Clean

You can help keep our City's streets clean by refraining from dumping:

  • grass clippings
  • leaves
  • heavy objects in the gutter
  • not parking vehicles in the street on sweeping days

Stormwater/Wastewater Program

Unlike sewage, which goes to treatment plants, urban runoff flows untreated through the storm drain system. Anything thrown, swept or poured into the street, gutter or a catch basin (the curbside openings that lead into the storm drain system) can flow directly into our channels, creeks, bays and ocean. This includes pollutants like trash, pet waste, cigarette butts, motor oil, anti-freeze, runoff from pesticides and fertilizers, paint from brushes and containers rinsed in the gutter and toxic household chemicals.
