Understanding the ins and outs of Medicare has never been easy, and with the passage of recent health care reforms, that challenge has become even more difficult. To help the public better understand Medicare and how the changes may affect individual health care coverage, the Fullerton Community Center will host a free educational program, “Medicare 2017 Updates,” on Tuesday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m.
The seminar will be sponsored and presented by the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP), a free Medicare/HMO counseling service for the Council on Aging Orange County. Topics discussed will include changes in Medicare coverage for the upcoming year, basic Medicare review, important dates to remember, and information for the annual Medicare plan review and enrollment clinic on November 14.
The “Medicare 2017 Updates” seminar is free to the public; however pre-registration is requested. To register, please call the Community Center at (714) 738-6305. Persons requiring special accommodations to attend the Medicare seminar are asked to notify the center staff prior to October 18.
The Fullerton Community Center is located at 340 W. Commonwealth Avenue. For more information about programs and services at the center, please call (714) 738-6575.
