The downtown Fullerton Market, one of Fullerton’s most popular community events, returns for its 25th season beginning Thursday, April 7, 2016.
“This event was established in 1991 as a fun, local community event featuring a dozen stands, and has grown to be a destination for Orange County on Thursday evenings,” explained Mayor Jennifer Fitzgerald. “We’re excited to kick off this 25th season with a new plaza fountain, more benches, and extra shade in our popular beer and wine garden this summer,” she continued. The 25th season will offer special events each month and commemorative buttons.
To celebrate the start of the 25th season of the Fullerton Market, a commemorative ‘green’ ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 6:15 p.m., to officially open the downtown plaza’s new spray fountain. The new fountain will be more water efficient and require less maintenance while meeting current health code requirements.
The weekly market, which runs through Thursday, October 27, offers farm-fresh produce, flowers, food and beverages, artisan craft vendors, and children’s activities, including a bounce house and face painting, for a nominal fee. Live music highlights the evening, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Market, vendors, and Beer and Wine Garden open at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Visitors to Fullerton Market are invited to tour the award-winning Fullerton Museum Center, which offers a special reduced admission rate of $2 per person from 4 to 8 p.m. on Market days the first Thursday of every month.
Band performances slated for April include:
Kid Ramos and Friends-roots and rock, April 7
Bubba and the Big Bad Blues-blues, April 14
