Any individual intending to perform any work within city limits related to backflow assembly annual testing, maintenance/repair or installation/testing must posses a valid certification from state approved certifying agency and a city business license.

In addition a city water permit is required for any new install or to replace an existing backflow device, and you may obtain these permits at City Hall located at 303 West Commonwealth Avenue, second floor in the Engineering Department. New installations or replacements of an existing backflow assembly must be in accordance the requirements outlined in the City of Fullerton Water Utility Specifications.

For all new backflow assemblies not previously existing, the proposed location of the backflow device, protective enclosure and all parts must be approved by the Water Quality Lead Worker or City Water Inspector prior to installation.
