Ju Kim

Chief's Advisory Board Member

Ju S. Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and bred in Southern California, specifically, in the High Desert town of Lucerne Valley as the son of farmers. He went on to graduate from Apple Valley High School and entered the University of California at Davis. Earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, he has been gainfully employed in the civil engineering industry for the last 35 years, including 21 years as a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) senior bridge engineer, and 3 years as the Division Manager of Construction for Orange County Public Works (OCPW) managing the County’s construction projects.

Ju has been married for over 20 years, living in Fullerton District 1 for all of his married years. He and his beautiful wife have a daughter and a son. He is very proud that both of his children are studying at his alma mater, the University of California at Davis. Go Aggies!
