Office of Emergency Services (OES)

Mutual Aid & Statewide Response

The Fullerton Fire Department is an active participant in the California Fire and Rescue Mutual Aid System. We stand ready to deploy resources to assist Cal OES and other public entities upon request for assistance.

State & Local Partnership

Through a strategic agreement with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), the City of Fullerton houses two state-owned fire engines.

These units are available for local response but are primarily positioned to respond to major emergencies across California.

OES 386 • Type I Engine
Designed for structural firefighting and urban interface defense.
OES 1313 • Type III Engine
A specialized 4x4 wildland engine designed for off-road terrain and vegetation fires.

Statewide Deployment

Our personnel have logged thousands of miles protecting communities throughout the state, providing surge capacity from Oregon to the Mexican border.

This includes rapid response to major incidents familiar to our community, such as the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire. Whether fighting fires in the steep terrain of the San Gabriel Mountains or assisting with large-scale fires across California, Fullerton firefighters stand ready to assist.
