Training Neighbors to Help Neighbors in Times of Crisis
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates residents and businesses about hazards that may impact Fullerton. Participants learn basic disaster response skills to support themselves and their community.
Course Curriculum
- Fire & Earthquake Safety: Disaster awareness and mitigation.
- Medical Operations: Basic disaster medicine and treatment.
- Search & Rescue: Light search and rescue techniques.
- Preparedness: Team organization and emotional recovery.
- Homeland Defense: Terrorism awareness and defense.
Training Standards
Participation in the Fullerton CERT program requires a commitment to excellence and community service:
- Attendance: All class sessions are required for certification.
- Capacity: Space is limited to ensure high-quality instruction.
- Mission: Preparedness for an "all-hazard" response.
