About the TBRA Program
The City of Fullerton's Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) will offer rental reimbursements payments for a 12-month period, with the possibility of a 12-month renewal* to eligible Fullerton residents, including seniors, military veterans and households paying more than 30% of their gross monthly income for rent. Per program guidelines, rents must fall under the Fair Market Rate and households must be below 30% of median income for Orange County.
*Subject to Funding Availability
PROGRAM CRITERIA
- Assistance is contingent on passing a Housing Quality Standard Inspection.
- Eligible Participant and Property Provider cannot be related.
- Eligible participant must provide a copy of lease agreement.
- Households who are currently receiving Federal, State, or County rental assistance are not eligible.
The following is for the 2025 Fair Market Rent for the program qualifications:
- Efficiency Bedroom: $2,352
- One Bedroom: $2,454
- Two Bedroom: $2,903
- Three Bedroom: $3,927
- Four Bedroom: $4,693
The following income identifies qualifying income based on Family Size as identified as Extremely Low Income (30% of AMI):
- For 1 Person Households: $35,550
- For 2 People Households: $40,600
- For 3 People Households: $45,700
- For 4 People Households: $50,750
- For 6 People Households: $58,900
- For 7 People Households: $62,950
- For 8 People Households: $67,000
How To Apply for the Program
Interest forms for the TBRA program will be available from April 28th to May 12th, 2025. The forms can be completed in various formats, this includes online or in person. Paper forms are available at City Hall (basement floor). Applicants will be selected based on pre-qualification; this is not a first-come, first served process. The city will notify selected households using the contact information provided in the interest form to be eligible for a potential lottery. Accuracy in completing the form is essential.
