The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is a not-for-profit community clean energy provider founded in 2021 that currently serves the cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, and Irvine. OCPA offers three renewable energy plans at competitive rates that customers can choose from, and each plan helps put renewable energy onto the electric grid to “green the grid” and replace carbon-emitting fossil fuels.

As a proud member city of the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA), Fullerton residents and businesses can easily reduce their carbon footprint by having OCPA as their energy provider.

OCPA is Fullerton’s default energy provider and works in partnership with Southern California Edison (SCE) that transmits and delivers energy to customers. Customers receive a single bill from SCE with a section dedicated to OCPA’s energy procurement called “Generation.”

The City of Fullerton has designated the default energy plan for residents and businesses at Smart Choice to make the biggest impact. New customer accounts will be automatically enrolled at Smart Choice, and customers can change their plan or opt-out and remain with SCE’s electricity generation at any time. There is no fee to make changes.

OCPA offers a Rate Comparison Tool where customers can see how their generation cost changes with each of OCPA’s renewable energy plan options.

Want to Change Your Plan or Stay With SCE?

No problem! Customers can change their renewable energy plan, or opt-out, at any time.

To opt-out of OCPA energy generation and remain with SCE, complete the online form on OCPA's website (shown below), or call 1-866-2-OCPOWER.
