Sustainable GREEN Fullerton

We, the City of Fullerton, are committed to the long-term health and viability of the community through environmental stewardship.  The City strives to plan and implement a wide range of sustainability initiatives and meet its Climate Action Plan goals.   Not only do our coordinated programs help save your tax $$, but also create a more resilient and greener city in the long run.

Energy Conservation

In collaboration with Southern California Edison and SoCalGas throughout the North Orange County Cities Energy Partnership, the City of Fullerton encourages you to join the energy conservation efforts!  Find more about energy efficiency tips, rebates, and other resources that can save you $$ and energy!

F.O.G. Control Program

Program aimed at keeping fats, oils and grease from entering our sewer system.

Recycling Waste

In response to various environmental concerns and the State of California Waste Management Act (AB 939), the City is committed to reduce the amount of waste sent to the landfills.

Household & Green Waste

The City has chosen to implement a program known as "murfing", which involves processing of the waste stream at a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) after being picked up by our refuse company.

Household Hazardous Waste

The County of Orange has several Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers available to Orange County residents ONLY upon proof of residency

NPDES

Within the jurisdiction of the Santa Ana Region, the City established the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDE) permitting program as a result of the Clean Water Act.

Oil Collection Centers

The City of Fullerton sponsors a Used Oil Collection Program aimed at encouraging residents to recycle their used motor oil.  Bring used motor oil to the state-certified collection centers throughout the City.
