Bob Murray & Associates launched a nationwide recruitment and candidate outreach in late 2016.
The recruitment was reopened until May 8, 2017. The recruiter will perform the initial screening of candidates and make recommendations to the City Council.
City Council members have selected one member of the community to serve on an interview panel.

The local interview process, including directed interview by community members appointed by Council, peer and supervisory level professionals, and final interviews by the City Council are planned for June.
Following City Council selection of a finalist, the successful candidate must complete a required Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) background process prior to appointment.
