S&P Global Ratings has performed an unsolicited rating review of the City of Fullerton’s outstanding 2013 Judgment Obligation Bonds and has raised these bonds’ long-term rating to ‘AA’ from ‘AA-‘, a welcome improvement. In addition, their outlook has been rated as “stable”. S&P Global Ratings typically performs these reviews every five years. The improved credit rating reflects S&P’s view of the City’s general creditworthiness. The main factors in making this rating include the City’s: 1.) established and stable property tax base, 2.) maintenance of a strong available fund balance, and 3.) low to moderate overall debt burden.
