|Public Works consists of two sections: Engineering and Maintenance. The Engineering section is responsible for project design and construction; private development review; water system management and maintenance; and storm water compliance. The Maintenance section provides services to internal and external customers for street and landscape maintenance, building services, fleet management, and sewer operations. Airport operations are also part of the Maintenance section. By erasing the operational separation between engineering and maintenance, the City's major assets will be managed in a continuum from development through construction, and into the ongoing maintenance phase. The result will be projects and programs that maximize return on the City's investment in its infrastructure over the long term.|
EngineeringThe Engineering Division provides administration, design, and construction management for the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This responsibility also includes deficiency surveys of the existing infrastructure system, coordination of CIP projects with other City departments, compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and adminstration of several special funding sources, such as Measure M, Gas Tax, and Sanitation funds.
Maintenance ServicesThe Maintenance Services Division protects the investment the community has made in its infrastructure - the streets, buildings, parks, and other facilities that belong to all Fullerton residents. Maintenance Services is responsible for a wide range of functions, including maintaining the City's automotive equipment, sidewalks, buildings, landscapes, parks, trees, streets, sewers, streetlights, graffiti removal, and the maintenance and operation of the water system.
Administration DivisionAdministration provides direction, management, and support services to the department’s six operating divisions. Besides the Maintenance Services Director himself, the Division consists of two teams: Support Services and Management and Analysis.
