Do you have an idea – large or small – that could make the CollegeTown area a great place for campus life and community life to converge? The City of Fullerton, California State University, and Hope International University want to hear from you!
The City of Fullerton, California State University Fullerton, and Hope International University are proud to announce the launch of CollegeTownFullerton.com, an interactive virtual town hall website dedicated to soliciting feedback and ideas from members of the community about the preparation of a Specific Plan and Environmental Impact Report. CollegeTown is a 70+ acre area bordered by Nutwood Avenue, Chapman Avenue, State College Boulevard, and the 57 Freeway. The Specific Plan will outline the long-term planning of the CollegeTown area which may include the future development of university-related facilities, residential (including student/faculty housing), commercial retail, and open space.
CollegeTownFullerton.com allows residents, students, and other interested stakeholders a new way to share ideas, provide feedback, and make recommendations on a broad variety of issues impacting the new CollegeTown mixed-use sub-area.
This new public engagement platform will allow a more diverse audience of participants that might not be able to attend other conventional public discussion forums. Simply jump online from work, home, school, or wherever there is access to an internet connection to join in the discussion.
CollegeTownFullerton.com uses new interactive web-based technology to better engage and listen to participants. “We are always looking for ways to better capture input and ideas from citizens. CollegeTownFullerton.com is a great way to interface with those people who would not typically attend a public meeting” said Charles Kovac, Project Manager from the City of Fullerton. “We are looking forward to hearing your ideas!”
Ideas are being sought in the following six topic areas…
· Vision Goals Prioritization
· Retail, Service and Commercial Land Uses
· Entertainment and Cultural Uses, Events and Activities
· Residential, Office, and University-Related Land Uses
· Pedestrian and Bicycle Access
· Bus Service
