The City of Fullerton's Public Information Office is a division of the City Manager's Office. The primary function is to coordinate all external communication between the City and citizens. The Public Information Office is responsible for news releases, social media, community outreach, and general information management.

The Public Information Office works closely with the City Council, City departments, news media, the public and other government agencies to assist in building a more open and accessible city government. It is the City's official information outlet to media related inquiries.

The Police Department has a Public Information Officer that addresses police and crime related matters. You may call 714-738-6829 or visit the Fullerton Police website for further inquires.

In the wake of a disaster, many people feel a strong desire to help but may not know where to begin. It’s important to proceed thoughtfully to ensure your efforts truly make an impact while avoiding potential scams.

 January 15, 2025 Update: The Fullerton Police and Fire Departments are partnering with North Valley Caring Services (NVCS) to organize a fire relief drive for those affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles County.

This drive-thru event will take place on Friday, January 17th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hunt Branch Library at 201 S. Basque Ave.

Due to the overwhelming response across Southern California for clothing donations, NVCS specifically requests the following new and unused items, as there is still a significant need. Please note that items not on this list will not be accepted during the drive.

Accepted items include:
* Diapers
* Blankets
* Leggings
* Baby Wipes
* Sweatshirts
* Body Wash
* Adult Diapers
* Disposable Razors
* Shampoo/Conditioner
* Men’s underwear (including larger sizes)
* Women’s underwear (including larger sizes)

We want to thank Costco, Republic Services, and Custom Comfort Mattress for providing trucks to deliver the donated items.

Tips for Safe Giving

  • Verify Legitimacy: Look for reputable organizations, often with “.org” in their web addresses.
  • Avoid Scams: Do not scan QR codes from unknown sources. Check platforms like Charity Navigator to ensure your donation is going to a reliable charity.
  • Resist Pressure: Never feel obligated to give money to anyone pressuring you over the phone or in person.

Donations and Volunteering

Currently, specific needs may vary, and some systems are overwhelmed with supplies. Before donating items, check the organization’s website to confirm their needs. If you're able to contribute, here are some trusted groups providing critical support:

A volunteer, resource, and donation hub addressing housing, family support, and food/supply needs.

2. Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

The Food Bank is accepting both monetary and food donations daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. The American Red Cross

Seeking financial donations to assist wildfire victims and support ongoing recovery efforts.

4. The Salvation Army

Accepting monetary donations and in-kind contributions. Volunteer opportunities are also available through local chapters.

5. Animal Support Organizations
Groups like Pasadena Humane Society (@pasadenahumane), Best Friends Animal Society (@bfas_la), and spcaLA (@spcala) are working to assist pets and other animals during and after the disaster.
