The City of Fullerton's Public Information Office is a division of the City Manager's Office. The primary function is to coordinate all external communication between the City and citizens. The Public Information Office is responsible for news releases, social media, community outreach, and general information management.

The Public Information Office works closely with the City Council, City departments, news media, the public and other government agencies to assist in building a more open and accessible city government. It is the City's official information outlet to media related inquiries.

The Police Department has a Public Information Officer that addresses police and crime related matters. You may call 714-738-6829 or visit the Fullerton Police website for further inquires.

THE CITY OF FULLERTON RECEIVES NEARLY $3.5 MILLION FOR FULLERTON POLICE

STATION AND CLEAN WATER WELL CONSTRUCTION

 

FULLERTON, CA (November 7, 2024) – The City of Fullerton is set to receive nearly $3.5 million in federal funding to support critical infrastructure projects, including the rehabilitation of the Fullerton Police Station and the construction of Well 7A to ensure long-term access to clean drinking water.

Congressman Lou Correa and Congresswoman Michelle Steel collaborated to request $2.5 million in federal funds for the remediation of hazardous materials and the restoration of the Fullerton Police Station. This historic structure faces significant environmental health challenges, including elevated levels of asbestos and lead paint throughout the building. The allocated funds will address these issues, ensuring a safe and sustainable facility for Fullerton’s police force and the community it serves.

Additionally, Congressman Lou Correa allocated $959,752 to the construction of Well 7A. In the face of ongoing drought concerns, this funding is essential to ensure Fullerton’s access to safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water. The funds will equip Well 7A with high-capacity pumps, motors, discharge piping, disinfection facilities, and electrical equipment, enabling the well to begin producing clean drinking water for the community.

Mayor Nicholas Dunlap commented on the allocation, stating, “We are grateful to Congressman Correa and Congresswoman Streel for helping to bring our tax dollars home in order to invest in important Fullerton community resources. Public safety and infrastructure are top priorities, and this funding will help as we continue to improve both areas.”

This funding is expected to drive positive impacts for Fullerton residents, ensuring that local infrastructure is equipped to meet both present and future demands.
