The contract was awarded to Western Audio Visual for $177,643.14.
The cable television broadcast equipment in the basement was severely damaged due to a broken water pipe that flooded the basement of City Hall. It was discovered that there are no replacements for a majority of the damaged components and the entire system is considered obsolete. The project will include removal of all existing equipment in the control room and installation of new equipment racks and a desk workstation for the new video production equipment. The project will also include a sound reinforcement system, including new loudspeakers, microphones, mixers and power amplifiers; an ADA compliant hearing assistance system; video projection system; remote control system; and video production system including cameras, video switcher, character generator, video recorder, cable TV and streaming, enhanced CATV information display, and council members video monitors and voting system.
During the construction, Council Meetings will be temporarily relocated to the Library’s Community Room.
The work is expected to be completed in July 2014.
