Orangethorpe Park Recreation Center (1414 S. Brookhurst St.)
Maple Community Center (701 S. Lemon St.)

Thursday, August 28, 2008 – Thursday, June 11, 2009
Weekdays until 6:00 p.m.

The City of Fullerton has partnered with the Fullerton School District for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life within the community. As a result of this collaboration, the program now serves 275 children daily, providing homework assistance, educational enrichment, and recreational activities.

Our trained staff plan, organize, and implement activities including arts, crafts, science, drama, dance, cooperative games, and team sports. This program is designed to be a solely voluntary after school enrichment activity; this is not a licensed day care service.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Space is limited. Admission is given on a first-come first-served basis for students attending Orangethorpe and Maple schools. Children will be admitted according to grade level, with equal consideration of primary and secondary grades. A waiting list of interested families is also maintained for the purpose of determining future enrollment. A one-time $25 registration fee per child will be applied upon registration ($5 sibling discount per additional child). You may only register on-site. For more information, or to request a FEE WAIVER, please call Rayda Simmons at (714) 738-5789.

ASP Kids - Hi, my name is Jonathan. I attend the (Maple) After-School Program. The staff members there are really nice and they help all of the kids with their homework and make sure it is correct. We are set up with different age groups. In my age group we got to make volcanoes. We put baking soda and vinegar to make it look like it exploded. They give all of us a chance to play sports like football, soccer, and everyone gets a chance to play their favorite sport. I think the After-School program is good for everyone.

I think the After-School Program is important because I get to hang out with my friends and plus I love the activities, art especially. My mom needs the program because she works late so she really needs it. Sometimes I need a lot of help on my math homework and they are always helping me. My mom doesn’t get all of my homework so she can’t help me. That is one of the reasons she put me in the After-School Program. I really enjoy it. -
