Mayor Pro Tem Keller was elected to her first four-year term on the Fullerton City Council in November 2006, and was named Mayor Pro Tem in December 2008.
Mayor Pro Tem Keller represents the City on the Fullerton Sister City Association, and is the City’s alternate representative to the Fullerton Investment Advisory Committee, the Orange County Council of Governments, and the Orange County Sanitation District Board of Directors. Mayor Pro Tem Keller is a life-long California resident, with the exception of a two-year period when, as an infant, she and her family lived in Ohio when her father, an Army man, was stationed there. The family returned to California two years later and finally settled in Fullerton when Mayor Pro Tem Keller was 10.
She graduated from Fullerton Union High School in 1981, and went on to obtain a bachelor degree in child development from California State University at Fullerton.
After additionally obtaining a teaching credential, Mayor Pro Tem Keller went to work for the Fullerton School District as an elementary school teacher. She now represents the district as Executive Director of the Fullerton Collaborative, which is a community-wide not-for-profit organization representing every sector of Fullerton's community. The Collaborative's mission is to build a healthier community for all Fullerton residents. Active in the community, Mayor Pro Tem Keller is a former member of the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Commission. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fullerton Sister City Association, and a member of the Fullerton Museum Center Association, Neighbors United for Fullerton, the Needlework Guild, the League of Women Voters, and the PTA, of which she is a past president. Mayor Pro Tem Keller and her husband, John, a local businessman, have three young sons – Christopher, Dakota and Alexander.
