BUSC Minutes March 15, 2006

CALL TO ORDER:

The regular meeting of the Bicycle Users Subcommittee was called to order at 5:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

The Minutes of the May 18, 2005 meeting were approved..

NEW BUSINESS:

1.INTRODUCTION OF NEW SUB COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Gene Hiegel, Denis Kuemerle, and Kent Morris, were introduced to the Bicycle Users Subcommittee members.Each new member gave a brief history of himself.

2.SELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR

Stephen Hall was selected as Chair and Gene Hiegel was selected as Vice Chair.

3.DISCUSS THE ROLE OF THE BICYCLE USERS SUBCOMMITTEE

Staff provided a brief history of the BUSC and provided a list of projects completed over approximately the last five years.A copy of the existing bike routes and the current unadopted bicycle master plan.

Orange County was looking for volunteers to help with the revised strategic plan for the county.If anyone is interested, they can apply on-line through ocparks.com.

NON-AGENDA ITEMS:

A request to contact Troy High School to clean up lawn clippings from the bike lane was made.Staff will forward the request to the appropriate personnel for follow up.

The regular meeting of the Bicycle Users Subcommittee was adjourned to the next regularly scheduled meeting of April 19, 2006.
