MINUTES
Special Meeting of October 20, 2005
REDEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE ROOM AT 4:00 P.M.

Called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Chair Hurst

Present:

  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2005
    Motion by Robert Zerrenner, second by Mike Miller, with Scott Dowds abstaining. Jane Reifer not yet present.

  2. SOLICIT COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS AND/OR QUESTION
    S ON THE DRAFT UPDATE TO THE 1995 TRANSPORTATION CENTER STUDY AND DOWNTOWN STRATEGY Director Zur Schmiede introduced the item and Project Manager, Robert Ferrier. Project Manager Ferrier provided a summary of the Update to the 1995 Transportation Center Study and Downtown Strategy. The update focused on vision, land use and urban design. The study area was expanded from the original 1995 area. Updating the study was a public process consisting of four public workshops.

    Approximately 60-80 people attended each workshop. Committee members Mike Hurst and alternate Steve Rose were on the host committee. After the presentation there was a series of questions and answers. The report is available for review on the City's website. The next steps are to take it to the City Council/Agency Board for their consideration. If approved, development guidelines will be drafted. The development guidelines will be used for future development, public improvements and to review private development proposals.

  3. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS
    None.

  4. OTHER BUSINESS/PUBLIC COMMENT
    Committee member Scott Dowds inquired if the Amerige Court project was still moving forward and on schedule because he heard that it was being stalled. Director Zur Schmiede stated that the project is still moving forward and the concept plans are scheduled for review in November. Copies of the two alternative concept drawings were distributed to committee members. Committee member Moehring asked about the drawings and Director Zur Schmiede offered to individually meet and review the drawings with him.

  5. ADJOURN - Meeting was adjourned at 4:57 p.m.
