Current Status

 Project design is underway for the multi-story parking structure (May 2008)

Project Description:

Development of a public parking structure to expand transit-serving parking facilities at the Fullerton Transportation Center. The proposed project includes construction of a 3-story (approximately 35 foot high) parking structure with 5 levels of parking (includes 1 level of subterranean parking and parking on the upper level). The parking structure will provide approximately 1,000 parking spaces.

The area covered by the parking structure is generally bounded by Harbor Blvd. on the east, Santa Fe Ave. on the north, railroad right-of-way on the south and the centerline of Malden Ave. on the west.

Past Status Reports

Status as of July 2007:

Condemnation proceedings are underway for the existing buildings. Funding sources for the parking structure are being sought.

Status as of 12/14/06:

A Revised Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) and Notice of Intent (NOI) have been completed and are posted below, in sections. The Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration has been completed and is available for public review for a period of 30 days beginning on December 15, 2006 and ending on January 14, 2007. (A 30 public review period was previously provided for state and local agencies beginning on November 13, 2006 and ending on December 13, 2006.)

At a subsequent City Council meeting, if it is determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment, a Mitigated Negative Declaration will be adopted.

Status, November 2006
