Chairman McNelly called the meeting to order at 7:35 a.m.

Minutes of the May 21, 2003 meeting were APPROVED as written.
Chairman McNelly introduced and welcomed Assistant Planner, Heather Sowers, as the new staff member to support the Energy and Resource Management Committee.
Chairman McNelly advised the committee that now is a good time to review this years goals and objectives to acknowledge accomplishments and additional items that need to be addressed. The committee continued to show interest in the sewer lateral lines, the Beverage Container Recycling program, updating the Urban Water Quality Management Plan, and energy conservation.
After some discussion on each of these items, the committee recommended to follow-up with the new Water Systems Manger about future plans with the Water Quality Management Plan, the school district, Mark McGee of MG Disposal, and staff about the Beverage Container Recycling program, and Director of Maintenance Services, Bob Savage, on energy conservation plans.
Committee member Roberts asked that staff present the committee with the Goals and Objectives for 2004.
Chairman McNelly thanked Assistant Planner Sowers for her assistance and the committee looks forward to working with her in the future.
