Chris Meyer
 Chris Meyer was appointed Fullerton City Manager in March 2002. He is only the sixth person to hold the City’s top administrative post since its incorporation in 1904.
Meyer has been with the City since 1976 when he was hired as an administrative intern in the City Manager’s Office. The following year, he was named an administrative assistant. In 1981 Meyer was appointed to the post of senior administrative assistant, and two years later was named assistant to the City Manager. Meyer was made administrative services director in 1995. In that capacity, he guided all of the City’s revenue, budget, investment and fiscal programs, as well as information services (which manages the City’s computer systems), purchasing, and the City’s water utility business operations. From October 2001 until March 2002, Meyer served as Acting City Manager. A California native, Meyer was born in Pomona and raised in Claremont and Newport Beach. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from San Diego State University and a master’s in public administration from California State University, Fullerton. Meyer is a member of the Orange County City Managers’ Association, and serves on the Orange County Animal Control Finance and Operations Oversight Committee. A Fullerton resident since 1992, Meyer and his wife, Janny, have one son, Brandon, an officer with the Fullerton Police Department. Janny Catlin Meyer is a teacher at Hermosa Drive Elementary School, where she teaches a combined GATE class for fifth- and sixth-graders. |
