APPROVAL OF MINUTES

MOTION: By, Jeff Harris, seconded by Bob Barclay, to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2001, meeting. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. NOISE AND OPERATIONS REPORT/AIRPORT INCIDENTS
    - February/March 2001
    - Public Comments on Individual Complaints

Rod reviewed one noise complaint received in February and one received in March. There was one incident in March of a Lumacurve sign being hit by an aircraft wing.

  2. AIRPORT MONTHLY SAFETY INSPECTION
The Airport Safety Inspection was conducted by Leigh Jacobs for March 2001.
  3. FAPA REPORT
    None.
  4. SOAR COMMITTEE
    None.
  5. MANAGER'S AIRPORT UPDATE
In response to a question from Wade Richmond, Rod said he has not had an update on the Courtney and Ash accident from the NTSB, but he would expect a report to be issued soon.

Rod called the engineer at KFI regarding adding strobe lights to the KFI tower. The strobe lights were taken out of their budget. They will paint the Tower and replace the guy wires. Rod suggested this Committee approve a resolution and send it to KFI, emphasizing the reduction in liability to KFI with the addition of strobe lights. This will be an item on the next agenda.

Rod reported fuel sales for January and February at the Airport were 50,000 gallons with only one FBO reporting. There were 6,404 operations in February with an approximate 89,000 operations for the past 12 months. In the past five years, Fullerton Airport has steadily declined from 100,000 operations. This is a concern since the FAA uses number of operations as part of the criteria for supporting an Air Traffic Control Tower.

Rod announced that he is negotiating with the Truckee Airport Authority for the position of General Manager for the Airport District.

MOTION: By Jeff Harris, seconded by Wade Richmond, to volunteer to be the Noise and Safety Committee representative to the Airport Advisory Committee. Motion carried.

COMMENTS FROM THE COMMITTEE

None.

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
