West Coyote Hills public hearings delayed
Contact :Sylvia Palmer Mudrick, Public Information Coordinator    (714) 738-6317
Public hearings on the West Coyote Hills Specific Plan tentatively scheduled for after the first of the year have been delayed.

The plan and accompanying environmental impact report (EIR) had been slated to go to the Fullerton Planning Commission Jan. 21 and the Fullerton City Council Feb. 23, but both meetings have been postponed.

The postponements are to allow city staff and consultants time to prepare responses to the numerous comments received on the EIR. New meeting dates will be scheduled once all the responses have been prepared.

The 582-acre West Coyote Hills site is bounded on the north by La Habra, on the east by Euclid Street, on the west by the Hawks Pointe development, and on the south by Rosecrans Avenue. Gilbert Street divides the property from north to south.

Developer Pacific Coast Homes proposes to build a maximum of 760 housing units in an approximate 177-acre portion of the area. Other components of the West Coyote Hills Specific Plan include a 17.1-acre public use site; a 5.2-acre neighborhood commercial development; and open space and recreational uses on 279.4 acres. Road improvements comprise another 29.3 acres.

Further information about the plan or the EIR may be obtained by calling Senior Planner Melanie Mullis at (714) 738-6837, or by email to
