|Fullerton, Ca – On March 15, 2014, the City of Fullerton and Fullerton Beautiful, Inc. will recognize National "Arbor Day" by coming together to beautify a local park. This Arbor Day 2014 event will be held at 9 a.m. at Woodcrest Park, located at 440 West Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton. |
Woodcrest Park provides an excellent picnic and play area for children and families of nearby Woodcrest Elementary and the surrounding neighborhood. Facilities at Woodcrest Park include picnic tables, a playground, parking lot, restrooms, softball field, barbecues, and bleacher seating. Phil Kisor, Landscape Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Fullerton commented, “Woodcrest Park gives the families and children of Fullerton a place to spend time together and have fun. Now, it's our turn to give back and help clean up the park. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way.”
Volunteers wanting to participate in this event should bring gloves, water, sturdy shoes, and a hat or sun screen. Volunteers do not need to call in advance to register – just show up on site on Saturday, March 15 at 9 a.m.
For more information, please contact Phil Kisor with the City of Fullerton Public Works Department at (714) 738-5345.
