Fullerton’s “Concert in the Park” Series Kicks-Off July 10

Fullerton, CA - Things will get rocking at the Fullerton Sports Complex Wednesday, July 10, when the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department's popular outdoor summer concert series returns with a lineup of performers sure to please every musical taste.

            All concerts in the series will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  While food will be available for purchase at the complex, concert-goers are welcome to bring a picnic supper to enjoy, as well as lawn chairs or blankets for seating. 

            In addition to the music, the concerts will offer free arts and crafts for children courtesy of the Fullerton Museum Center. 

            Kicking off the series on July 10 will be the group, "Los Fabulocos," noted for songs about complex themes, such as love, family and home. Group members are James Barrios bass and vocals; Jesus Cuevas, accordion and vocals; Mike Molina, drums; and Kid Ramos, guitar, bajo sexton and vocals.

            Other concerts scheduled include “The Answer” July 17, which performs the classic rock sounds of such legends as Jim Morrison and Creedence Clearwater; Jann Browne Band  on July 24;  Bubba and the Big Bad Blues on July 31;  Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Boys on Aug. 7; and “Ronny and the classics” on Aug. 14. 

            The Sports Complex is at 560 E. Silver Pine St., which is off Bastanchury Road, west of Brea Boulevard, in the Brea Dam flood control basin.

            Parking for the disabled will be available at the site.  

           Overflow parking will be provided at the First Evangelical Free Church parking structure on the northwest corner of Bastanchury Road and Brea Boulevard.   Shuttle service will be provided to and from the parking structure and the sports complex from 6-9 pm.
