Are you a bibliophile on the go, but have no time to indulge your taste with a stop at the Fullerton Public Library (FPL)?  Not to worry, the library will come to you!  Check out and return the latest bestsellers and your favorite paperbacks via FPL Station, the new book vending machine located at the SOCO West Parking Structure.

Opening June 2012, all you will need is your FPL library card to access books 24/7.  The book vending machine will be located near the elevator in the northeast corner of the parking structure.

Similar to a vending machine, a book is selected using a keypad and then dispensed through the swinging door at the bottom of the machine.  A receipt indicating the due date is also provided.  A convenient return bin is located next to the machine, allowing for easy return as you make your way to catch Metrolink, Amtrak, an OCTA bus, or visit one of the many restaurants or other entertainment establishments in Downtown Fullerton.

Funded by a Library Services and Technology Act Grant awarded by the California State Library, FPL will have the first book vending machine in Orange County.  The machine, which has a 500-book capacity, is fully integrated with the Library's checkout system.

The book vending machine expands FPL services to a new client base, including those who may miss the chance to visit the "bricks and mortar" library due to work.  While targeted to commuters, anyone cardholder can access this convenient location.

Persons with questions or those requiring special accommodations are asked to notify FPL staff at 714-738-6326
