Fullerton Market will go green Thursday, April 22, as the market observes the 40th anniversary of “Earth Day.”

In recognition of the event, vendors of “green” products or services are being sought who would be interested in sponsoring a booth at the market on that day.

The “green” vendors would join the local farmers, artisans, merchants and community organizations who regularly participate in the weekly outdoor market held Thursdays from April 1 through Oct. 28.

“Because the April 22 market falls on the annual ‘Earth Day’ observance, we thought it would be appropriate to focus attention on protecting our environment through use of ‘green’ or ‘sustainable’ products and services,” said Ashley Glass, special events coordinator for the city.

Booth applications and further information may be obtained at the Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave., or by calling the museum at (714) 738-6545.

Deadline for returning the applications is April 2.

Now into its 19th year, the Fullerton Market features imported and handmade crafts and apparel, food booths, live entertainment, activities for young people, and the freshest in farm produce.

The market is held from 4-8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Plaza and on Wilshire Avenue, between Harbor Boulevard and Pomona Avenue, adjacent to the Fullerton Museum Center.

Admission to the market is free.

Parking for the market may be found in any of the free downtown lots or in the parking structures at Wilshire (enter from Harbor);  Lemon Street and Chapman Avenue;  and in the Transportation Center on Pomona and Santa Fe Avenue.

Persons requiring special accommodations to participate in the market are asked to notify the museum staff when filling out an application.

Fullerton Market is sponsored by the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department.
