Fullerton Police are asking the public’s help in identifying and locating a bandit wanted in connection with the robbery of two Fullerton banks over a three-day period.
The suspect is wanted in the robbery of a Chase Bank at 1235 N. Harbor Blvd. Thursday (June 4) and a Bank of America at 401 N. Harbor on Saturday (June 6).
Police believe he may also be responsible for bank robberies in other Orange County cities.
According to Sgt. Mike MacDonald, the suspect in both Fullerton robberies approached a teller and handed over a note demanding cash. No weapon was seen in either incident.
In the Saturday robbery, a dye pack was included in the money given to the suspect. The pack activated as he left the bank and began trailing smoke. The suspect tried to conceal the smoke by hiding the pack under his clothes.
No vehicle was seen in either robbery.
MacDonald said the suspect is described as Asian, 30-49 years of age, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 in height, with short spiked black hair, and dressed in black clothing. He was also described as well spoken.
Anyone with information as to the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call Detective Rob James at the Fullerton Police Department at (714) 738-6728, or the department’s front desk at (714) 738-6715.
