Updated sections of the Revised Draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed West Coyote Hills project are now available for review.

The revised sections may be viewed during business hours at the Community Development Department at Fullerton City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.;  the Fullerton Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave.;  and the Hunt Branch Library, 201 S. Basque Ave.

The revised sections have also been placed on the City of Fullerton website,, under the Community Development Department section.

Deadline for submitting comments on the revisions is March 3.

Public hearings on the revisions have not yet been set.

The four sections of the Revised Draft EIR that have been recircuclated deal with air quality, public health and safety, hydrology and flood control, and biological resources.

State law permits the recirculation of portions of the EIR that have been revised due to the addition of significant new information related to the analysis prepared for those issues.

The 582-acre West Coyote Hills site is bounded on the north by La Habra, on the east by Euclid Street, on the west by the Hawks Pointe development, and on the south by Rosecrans Avenue.  Gilbert Street divides the property from north to south.

Developer Pacific Coast Homes proposes to build a maximum of 760 housing units in an approximate 180-acre portion of the area.  Other components of the West Coyote Hills Specific Plan include a 5.2-acre neighborhood commercial development, and approximately 283 acres of open space and recreational uses, including the 72-acre Robert E. Ward Nature Preserve.

Further information about the Coyote Hills Specific Plan update may be obtained by calling Joan Wolff, planning consultant for the city’s Community Development Department, at (714) 738-6837.

Persons requiring special accommodations to review the revised material are asked to contact Wolff.
