The public is invited to attend two workshops planned for this month to obtain public input on the General Plan update in progress now.
The “visioning workshops” dates and locations are:
- July 24: Sunny Hills High School Performing Arts Center, 1801 Warburton Way.
- July 26: Lion’s Field Clubhouse, Hillcrest Park, 1440 N. Brea Blvd. (at Lemon Street).
Both workshops will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Bob St. Paul, senior planner for the City of Fullerton and coordinator of the update process, said the workshops “will focus on understanding the issues and visions for the future of Fullerton from the community perspective. They will help the City discover community values, priorities and visions for Fullerton’s future.”
Two workshops are also planned for August; however, the dates and locations have not yet been confirmed.
The General Plan is the document used by city officials to guide long-range planning and development. The document consists of several state-mandated elements on topics such as land use, circulation, housing, resource management, and community health and safety.
State law requires cities to update their general plans every 10 years.
Further information about the visioning workshops or the update process may be obtained either by logging onto the General Plan Update section on the City of Fullerton website at www.ci.fullerton.ca.us, or by calling Bob St. Paul, Fullerton senior planner, at (714) 738-6559.
Persons requiring special accommodations to attend the July workshops are asked to notify St. Paul prior to the sessions.
