Fullerton, Ca – The City of Fullerton is accepting applications to serve on the newly formed Fullerton Economic Development Commission (EDC).  

Applications are being accepted to fill all seven EDC commissioner positions.  

EDC appointments are for five direct City Council appointments (two will have terms ending in November 2014, three will have terms ending in November 2016), one at-large member (term will end in 2014) as determined by a majority Council vote and one appointment (term will end in 2016) to be recommended by the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors and approved by majority vote of the Council.  Appointee terms are to be consistent with the remaining term of the appointer.

The purpose of the EDC is to implement the Fullerton Plan by serving as a focal point for the community, businesses, City economic development policies and programs.  The EDC reviews and makes recommendations to City Council regarding economic development policies and programs related to the City.

Deadline for applications is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014.

Applicants must live or work for a business registered in Fullerton.  Commission members serve on a voluntary basis and receive no financial remuneration.  Some commission and committee members may be required by state law to file conflict of interest disclosure statements.

Applications and further information may be obtained by calling the Fullerton City Clerk’s Office at (714) 738-6571, or by visiting the office on the first floor of Fullerton City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.  

Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office by the deadline.
