Public Comments None Introductions Ron Smithling was introduced as the Fullerton Collaborative representative. Approval of Minutes December 08, 2003, minutes were approved with the following corrections: Member Duncan noted that the location of the Incorporation Centennial booth was on Wilshire Ave., not Harbor Blvd. Vice Chair Spencer and Member Bowen made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected. Chair Dalton expressed thanks to those committee members who volunteered to work the ICC booth on 'First Night.' Old Business Report on 'First Night' pin/hat sales: Chair Dalton reported that 33 hats, 71 Boxed Pin Sets and 74 Pins have been sold and these numbers include the pin/hat combo set for a total of $1171.00. Future Pin Sale: Cultural Event Specialist Dannielle Mauk advised the Committee the Museum is ready to sell the items. Members Bowen, Smithling, Lee, and Dalton advised the Committee they will be contacting their respective organizations for status of selling the commemorative items at events. Vice Chair Spencer inquired to the possibility of ordering 'Centennial T-Shirts' to include for sales and will speak with Economic Development Manager Kay Miller to obtain the vendor's name, prices, designs, etc. PIO Palmer Mudrick reminded the Committee of the need to repay the City the front money, and suggested the Committee might want to concentrate on repaying that money before ordering anything new. Centennial Banners: Member Susan Katsaros reported on the sample banners that were passed around for review by the Committee members. Discussion included what colors to use, the cost for 1 or 2 banners, how many photo images to utilize, etc. Committee members agreed to form a subcommittee to continue working on the banner project and, when all information is collected, to present a proposal to the whole Committee for voting purposes. Members on the subcommittee are Tom Dalton, Mike Ritto, Susan Katsaros, Ron Smithling, and Bill Heaton. The first meeting subcommittee will be held on January 15th @ 4:00 p.m. at All Media (Mike Ritto's) offices, 124 W. Commonwealth Ave., Ste. P, Fullerton. PIO Palmer Mudrick will obtain the specifics of the banner poles from the Maintenance Department and relay that to the subcommittee. Harbor Boulevard Banner: No discussion as there is ample time yet before any decisions need to be made. Master Calendar Updates: All updates are to be forwarded to PIO Palmer Mudrick, who asked Committee Members to make sure to include the sponsor's name and contact telephone number.
New Business Committee Update at January 20, 2004, Council Meeting: PIO Palmer Mudrick advised Chair Dalton this report would take place at the 4:00 Session during the 'Presentation' section. Committee Members are invited to attend the Council Meeting. Centennial Coins: Member Ritto shared with the members the 'centennial coin' for a fund-raising possibility, with the coins to be used by the Fullerton merchants. One coin would be worth $1 at participating stores and would be handed out with the customers' change. Member Bowen suggested bringing back the 'wooden nickel', which was commissioned for use at the City's 50th Anniversary, with one side of the coin having the City seal. More suggestions for celebrating the centennial/fund-raising included T-shirts with City Seal; the Titan's baseball team have a centennial patch on its uniform for its March game; designate March as Baseball month; the Fullerton Municipal Golf Course could sell centennial items in its pro shop; and the 'Front & Center' event at Arrowhead Pond with Kenny Loggins could be designated an official centennial event
Member Carlson handed out the Man & Woman of the Year nomination forms along with the new issue of the Chamber's membership directory which focuses on the centennial. Adjournment The regular meeting of the Incorporation Centennial Committee was adjourned at 5:07 p.m. The next meeting of the Incorporation Centennial Committee will be on Monday, February 09, 2004, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Conference Room.
